Hi all,

Just got my I bricked my Sheevaplug a few days ago and I already appeared to have bricked it.  I'm hoping for some advice on how to un-brick it.

I followed instructions to flash new u-boot here http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/SqueezePlug#Establishing_a_Serial-Connection

But i can't find the MAC Address to complete this step:

Quote
Goto Line 9 and change the MAC-Address according to the address on the back of your SheevaPlug

My SheevaPlug is SheevaPlug Dev Kit, i don't see any information about MAC Address on Plug.

Please help me with a resolution for this case.

Thank so much.

But i can't find the MAC Address to complete this step:
For me, the label on the bottom has two barcodes.  The upper of these is labelled MAC (and, underneath it -  in very small letters - is the MAC address in readable form).
However - you only really need to make this unique on your own network, so you could use 00:50:43:01:01:01 (or similar).

Then it should rather be 02:50:43:01:01:01 or similar. The second bit of the first byte means "administratively assigned", which guarantees that no hardware will ever be manufactured with that address. So if you set the 2nd bit then you can set the rest of the MAC address to whatever you like, providing it is unique in your network.

Hi,

If you need to set the MAC address you must have working uboot first, does it boot?
If not then the only way is via OpenOCD, but the configuration files in the tarball are for the 6281 not the 6282, need to change them to make it work.
